Haas joined the Alvernia staff for his first season in 2013. From 2013 – 2017 he worked directly with the catchers, outfielders, and hitters and served as the team’s 1st base coach. During that time, the Alvernia Baseball team advanced to 3 MAC Commonwealth Conference Tournaments (2015-2017), winning the tournament in 2016. The squad also advanced to 2 NCAA Mid Atlantic Regional Tournaments (2015 & 2017), falling one win short of the DIII College World Series in 2015.
In his tenure at Alvernia, Haas coached 2 All-Conference Catchers (Chris Burns, ’16 and James Bertolotti ’16), 3 MACC Players of the Year (Ben Sawyer, ’15, Cameron Coons, ’16 and Nathan Sides, ’19) and a DIII All-American (Ben Sawyer, ’15). Prior to that, he was an assistant coach for two seasons with the Berkshire Red Sox, winning a league championship in 2012. Haas spent 5 seasons as the Head Baseball Coach at Wyomissing Area High School from 2004 until 2009. While at Wyomissing, the Spartans qualified for the District playoffs three times in five years.
Haas was a 4-year starter at catcher for Arcadia University from 1997 – 2001. He was an All-PAC selection in 1998, leading his team in slugging percentage, hits, RBI’s, doubles and total bases. Haas is 10th all-time in Arcadia History with a career On Base Percentage of .462 and tied for 9th all-time with 24 career doubles. Haas earned All-Academic honors during all 4 years.
Haas is a National Recruiting Specialist with NCSA Athletic Recruiting, Chicago, IL. Prior to joining NCSA, Haas was the Group Operations Manager for the Reading Fightin Phils.
